My bags are packed, I'm ready to go...

Winter break has been a nice and relaxing last few weeks in America. I've shoveled about 20 inches of snow, lived without heat or power for 24 hours, shopped with my mom, and indulged in a few too many Christmas cookies. On the 27th, Caleb (my boyfriend), came down to visit and drop me off at the airport. He came to a huge family party and did a fantastic job with meeting the whole gang. We've had a good time bowling and hanging out with my sibs and their spouses, shopping, lounging, seeing Sherlock Holmes (AWESOME) with 3 high school friends who came to visit, and just chill-facing. I've been starting my Irish pub experience early, just to compare when I get back :) My sibs and I went to Fado, an Irish pub in Chinatown, and we went to Murphy's in Alexandria with my parents, where we saw 2 PSU friends--small world! The bowling ally club/bar and the 2 pubs accepted my fake I.D., which was awesomeeee. They were slightly suspicious, but whatever. It was terrifying to use it for the first time, but my sister's old I.D. worked just fine--I guess I don't look 32 years old. Joni and Joey are coming tonight for New Year's Eve, and then a day of relaxing and visiting with family.

So after putting it off for long enough, I've finally packed my bags with 6 sweaters, 7 blouses, 12 long/short sleeve shirts, 3 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of leggings, 1 pair of black pants, 3 pairs of pajamas, 1 robe, 1 bathing suit, a few dresses, lounge-y clothes, socks and underwear, toiletries, sleepsack, turban towel, hats, scarves and gloves. Oh, and about 8 pairs of shoes...pray for me. It was slightly traumatizing, emotionally and mentally. There were some tears and slight disagreements, but in the end one bag is exactly 50 lbs (hopefully a little less) and the other is in a safe range.

Today we're going to some Smithsonians--can't wait!

Testing..1..2..3.

Just spent about four hours collecting and packing various non-clothing items today. Woohoo!
